How dining reservations work
Disney calls them Advance Dining Reservations, or ADRs. You book a table for a specific restaurant and time through the My Disney Experience app or website. Most table service spots and character meals require one, especially in busy seasons.
The 60 day window
You can book up to 60 days before your dining date. If you stay at a Disney resort hotel, you can book 60 days before your check in date for your whole stay, up to 10 days. That is a real advantage for popular spots.
- Booking opens at 6 AM Eastern. Be logged in and ready a few minutes early.
- Make sure your tickets and resort reservation are linked in the app first.
- Have a short list of backup times and restaurants.
Dad's tips
- Book the hardest reservation on the last day of your stay first, since resort guests can book the whole trip at once.
- Check again the day before and the morning of. People cancel to avoid the no show fee.
- Lunch is often easier to get and cheaper than dinner at the same place.
- Mobile order quick service in the app to skip lines at lunch time.
- Note the cancellation policy. Most spots charge a fee per person if you cancel late.
Can't get the table you want?
A reservation alert service watches for cancellations and pings you when a spot opens up. That is how we landed Be Our Guest on our last trip.
